Hi Bulldogs!  As your school counselor, I am so excited to start each day with you.  My goal is to help support students, families, and teachers as we embrace various successes and challenges. My focus is individual and group counseling, parent and teacher support, classroom guidance, as well as referring to community services.  

Personally, My husband and I have raised three children as I have served as an educator for over 30 years. My interests have changed through the years, from learning to fly a plane to spending time with family and friends.  However, my passion has always been the same.  I want to do all that I can to help the people around me live their very best lives; and that includes you.  Please let me know if I can help you today.

My name is Amber Alvey and I am the School Based Therapist for Briggs Elementary School. I am so excited to be a new part of the Briggs family. I have my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercer University and my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from East Tennessee State University.

My role as your child’s School Based Therapist is to provide psychotherapeutic services to students right here in school. The School Based Therapy program is an amazing program to help serve children right where they are. As the School Based Therapist, I work closely with the teachers and staff to help provide the most effective plan possible to serve your child’s needs.

I am excited to get share a small piece in your child’s journey here at Briggs.
